Here for You

June 29th, 2009

The idea for this card came from a card I saw in the new Stampin Up! catalog.  It uses an image from the Stampin UP! set Friends 24-7.  First I took naturals ivory card stock and scored it with my score-pal.  Then I stamped my image with versamark and colored with three different chalks.  I embroidered around the edge and added the ribbon.

Summer Card

June 25th, 2009

Here is my attempt at a summer card.  I fell in love with this stamp set from Our Craft Lounge.  The image is from that set called Hangin Loose with Kona.  The background paper is from Close to My Heart.  I colored the image in with my Copic markers.

I kind of feel like I am riding the big wave because all I seem to be doing this summer is driving my kids to camp, tutoring and soon to be guitar lessons.

A Whiff of Joy

June 24th, 2009

This is a card that I started quite a long time ago now.  When I got my Copic markers I was experimenting and coloring images.  This Whiff of Joy image is one that I colored with my Copics.  I finally got her on a card.

Amazing, huh, I got another post out in between taking my son to baseball camp and working with my daughter for softball.

New Colors

June 23rd, 2009

This card was made with many of Stampin UP!’s new In Colors.  The image is called Wings of Friendship and is a sneak preview set.  I started this card by stamping the image with Versamark and embossing with a clear embossing powder.  Then on a non stick craft sheet I rubbed the different In Color ink pads and sprayed with water.

The image was then turned over and rubbed on the craft sheet.  Any excess ink was rubbed off the image with a towel.  To add a little more drama to it, I added some antique linen distress crackle paint from Ranger.  I rubbed off the excess crackle paint and then sponged a bit of creamy caramel around the edges of the image.

The photo was taken outside on my front porch to use the natural light.

In the Garden

June 17th, 2009

Hello there,

This is what I have been up to recently.  I have been using my creativity to decorate my yard.  I even took old bowling balls and painted faces on them to hide in my ornamental grasses.

But good news for those interested in cards and paper crafts.  I have been working on some projects that I started and never finished.

I will show you real soon.

Big Announcement

June 1st, 2009

Updated 06/09- This is what is left of my first list.  I have some older sets that I would still like to get rid of.  Due to the economy and desire for space, I have been charging $5/set.

I still have many sets that I like and will keep for now.  So even though I will not be a demonstrator at times I may still sell some off.

Updated 06/02- stamps going fast.  This is what is left today.  Please check retired sets too.

Hello there,

This has been tossed around in my head for a long time but the time has come.  I have decided to leave Stampin Up!  I may make one last purchase when the new catalog comes out but that will be the last.

I will still be crafting and still blogging.  I hope that the summer will give me some more time to create.

So today, I am announcing a Big Sell Off of stamp sets.  Some stamp sets are on my retired list.

This is my list so far.  I will edit this post soon with prices but for now if you would like any let me know.  You can even make an offer.

To you & yours

I will post more next week.  I am working on cleaning house and yard for my daughter’s big 13th birthday party.  ( 25 kids invited).  If these sets do not sell then I will put them on Ebay.

A copic creation

May 13th, 2009

I broke down recently and purchased some copic markers.  I have been practicing with them and decided to enter this in the Copic Creations challenge three.  I had thought about taking the Copic certification class but have decided to save my money and just try to learn from those whom have tutorials.

I have been crafting but have not gotten the creations on to cards yet.

Greetings

Hello there,

Yes, I am still here.  I thought I would give you an update.  I have been focusing my creative and green abilities on my yard and garden.  The weather has been nice except for the yellow cloud of pollen that emerges from the pine trees when the wind blows.   I would like to have the best yard and garden I have ever had this year.

My daughter and husband have been spending most weekends running to softball tournaments.  My son is also on a baseball team.  He was up sick last night.

I have so far managed to loose 35lbs and continue to try to loose.  I will soon be focusing on  helping my husband loose weight.

I may actually get some stamping done today since we have to stay home and keep my son quiet.

Thinking of you,

Sue

Whiff of Joy challenge

April 8th, 2009

This is a quick card that I made this morning for the Whiff of joy Challenge this week.  I had actually colored in the angel awhile ago.  She has shimmerz on her wings.

The paper is by Close to My Heart.  I added primas, vintage lace, rhinestone brads, a ribbon and a charm to dress it up.

Recycling card

April 7th, 2009

This card was inspired by several challenge blogs as well as the thought to use things around the house.

The card was modeled after the sketch for Papertake Weekly challenge.  Then the stamping, dry embossing and punches are the inspiration of The Pink Elephant’s challenge this week.

The idea to recycle came from two sites.  The first site is Arty Girlz Challenge blog whom are saying good bye to challenges but wish to continue the recycling inspiration.

I made this flower from a coffee filter.  I soaked the coffee filter in tea and another in coffee.  I really like the coffee results better than the tea.  For this flower I cut the middle of the coffee filter out so I had a just the edge of the coffee filter.  I then took some VersaMagic chalk ink and inked up the edges.  Then I stitched around the inside edge and pulled the string to make it gather.  The final touch to the flower was an old button that my mother had saved and glued it to the center.

The second site that encouraged my recycling was Created by Courtney’s Challenge for the week to use soda tabs.  Yes, these are soda tabs which were colored with a gold sharpie permanent marker.

Since I was going back to basics, I embriodered the leaf and made a stem.
